Some time ago, before I landed in my Internet sabbatical, I was surprised to see that someone had taken one of my pictures and use it as a reference for a drawing. That someone was ~Hallith. You can find the drawing right here.

So I felt I should do something in return, and besides, I didn't draw from a real-life reference in some time, so I took one of her pictures and turned it into this portrait. It was important that it was going to be bad ass, so I did just that.

Yes, it's always strange to see a realistic drawing of yourself. I can't shake the feeling that my nose looks really big, but it might also be something that's between my ears and I just think it's smaller.

Really, I'm not very good and drawing things that are realistic. I don't like overly cartoony things either, so I try to find that sweet spot in the middle. But damn, I'm still impressed when someone can draw a person to the point it looks like a photograph (inb4 hyper-realism).
