Anatomy/action-pose study, this time featuring Fluttershy.
Alright, so this is kind of a hybrid between the whole pegasus thing and platforming. We already had Rainbow Dash landing after a big leap, so here's a Fluttershy leaping from whatever it is she's leaping from.
Also decided to go back to my original design for Fluttershy, except that she lost a considerable amount of weight and that her skirt/dress no longer resembles a bed sheet.
i love these action-pose studies you did of them! That is the one thing i'm seriously lacking. I can do all crazy kind of poses if i want to, but none of them looks so dynamic as yours here ;_;
Thank you. I have been accused of my characters being stiff in the past, and rightfully so, so I do realize the difficulty of making your characters look more fluid and lively.
My bit of advice here is to start out with a simple wire-frame that includes the extremities, spine, shoulders and hips. I recently started using the hips as my starting point, opposed to the head, as it determines the entire pose. Make sure that the wire frame has the dynamic you want; if it isn't conveyed in this phase, it will not translate to the final piece.
