Another anatomy/action pose study, this time featuring Pinkie Pie as an excuse.
Alright, there's a little bit of back-story to this one, don't worry. Basically I was listening to Mario Galaxy music
, which has some of the most epic music ever put in a video game featuring a goddamn plumber, and eventually I came to draw the classic character-turns-quickly-after-running-at-full-speed pose. Also, I haven't drawn humanized Pinkie in quite some time, especially when it comes to a full-body shot.
I like to think these recent humanizations are a huge improvement over those I did for my entry into pony art, you know, my take on those ponies
. To me, it certainly looks more correct, though people (and for... probability sake, mostly girls) have complained about the outfit I designed for her. To me, Pinkie's always been on the fringe between practical and girly, so my design features a flowing skirt, light pants and a short-sleeve shirt. Easy to put on, practical and pink
Enough ramblings, enjoy.
EDIT: Some of you pointed out the error in her left hand, it should be correct now. In a way it was already correct, but only when the hand is twisted very awkwardly. This flows a lot better.
